Spoil Islands camping icon

Spoil Islands located on the Intracoastal Waterway (ICW) are great for fishing the surrounding sea grass beds. The Spoil Island were formed as a by-product of dredging the ICW and their unspoiled environment attracts migrating birds. Camping is allowed on may of these islands because they are state owned lands, except Grant Farm Island. If you are interesting in camping, please visit The Spoil Island Project website for details on what is allowed on each island and which islands do not permit visitors. We list the GPS coordinates for individual spoil islands on the charts that you are allowed to visit; those islands that prohibit entry are not on our lists. Go to the Spoil Island Project website and on the left side click the county you will visit to view a great map with each island listed and it's rules.
