Indian River County GPS Numbers

GPS Coordinates > Central East > Indian River

St Lucie and Indian River Fishing & Dive Sites memory card from florida go fishingIndian River County offers year round fishing adventures for anglers. The county has numerous offshore artificial reefs, inshore fishing near the Sebastian Inlet jetties, and exceptional fishing on the Indian River Lagoon with it's many islands hold a wide variety of species. There are four reef lines parallel to the beach within 400 feet of the coast offering natural reefs, caves, ledges, and lots of fish especially on the outer reefs. Indian River County's claim to fame is the shipwrecks of the 1715 Spanish Silver Plate Fleet. Coins come up from the deep even today, so be on the look out for these little treasures when on Wabasso beach or near the inlet. There are numerous shipwrecks from this fleet offshore and we indicate them on our chart list. You can dive and fish these sites but cannot take artifacts! 90% of all Clams harvested in Florida come from the Indian River Lagoon and 50% of all fish caught on the east coast of Florida come from the lagoon-does this give you an idea of how good fishing is here? Pelican Island National Wildlife Preserve boundries encompass 3/4 of the the lagoons' eastern waterways and islands. You are allowed to fish in this area in the open waterways. There are areas where you cannot approach within 150 feet of land, so know the rules and adhere to them as this area is actively patrolled. Offshore the southern end of Oculina Bank provides divers and trolling anglers with some fast action and beautiful dives.Icon indicating webpageOculina Bank Fishing [MPA]
