The Grand Piano Mystery
A 600 pound baby grand piano was spotted on a sandbar in the middle of Biscayne Bay in January 2011. It is a mystery how this piano landed on the highest point at the end of a sandbar 200 yards from the Quayside condominiums near Northeast 107th. The piano is a popular resting spot for birds and it's partially burned remains sit high enough on the sandbar to keep from washing away with the tide.

FWC says they will not remove the piano. The US Coast Guard will not touch it unless it becomes a navigational hazard. Local marine patrols would not get involved either.
So speculations swirled, the story went viral on the internet, and may individuals looking for their claim to fame came forward claiming they were responsible for the piano landing on the sandbar. Finally the actual culprits came forward and told authorities what happened.
The piano was finally dismantaled and removed but before it left the sandbar dozens of curious boaters visited the sandbar including the Mermaid's of Miami posed for pictures at the piano's last grand concert.
